Professional Background

I’m especially passionate about working with teens and young adults from all walks of life. My goal is to build a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration. Before entering private practice, I worked as a school counselor and career advisor, supporting clients as they navigated academic pressure, identity development, and emotional challenges. With a diverse background in both counseling and the tech industry, I bring a balance of structure and creativity into the therapy space. I'm also bilingual in Mandarin and welcome the opportunity to support clients who feel more at ease speaking in their native language. I hold a Mental Health Counselor Associate License (LMHCA) and earned both a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from St. John’s University (NY).

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is relational and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative Therapy to help clients explore their emotions, reframe unhelpful thoughts, and develop a stronger sense of self. Whether we’re challenging anxious thoughts, unpacking stories from the past, or setting future goals, I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where growth feels possible and sustainable.

Philosophy

I believe therapy should be a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I view each person as the expert in their own life and approach sessions with deep respect for their lived experiences. My role is to help clients reconnect with their values, identify what’s working, and gently shift what isn’t—at a pace that feels right for them. I’m also an advocate for holistic wellness and believe that mental health is deeply connected to physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. I strive to help clients explore the broader context of their lives, including identity, culture, and environment, and support them in cultivating a balanced, sustainable approach to healing and growth.
